Saturday Night Fire Ceremony

A yogic fire ceremony, also referred to as homa or yajña, is a practice of invocation and evocation. We invoke the presence of beings of higher consciousness, and we evoke that same higher consciousness that resides within us in potential. It is a means of clarifying intention and purifying karma. The ceremony is quite simple, effective, and very beautiful.  Through mantra repetition, we generate enormous positive, healing energy, which radiates within us and throughout the surrounding environment. If a fire ceremony is scheduled and the weather is inclement, we will hold an indoor event instead.

Special ingredients such as grains, flowers, ghee, food, and coconut are offered into the sacred fire while Sanskrit mantras are chanted, and the combined energy of the fire, offerings, and mantras generates powerful subtle vibrations that bless and purify everyone present, spreading peace and healing. The smoke that rises from this sacred fire contains powerful healing energy, and as it ascends it purifies the environment, both physically and subtly, encouraging a harmonious atmosphere and gentle weather.

Please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to the event start time to get settled. You can bring a pillow to sit on and a shawl or blanket if you like. If you forget, we will have a few extras available. We will have blankets or tarps on the ground around the fire. Prasad will be served after the ceremony is complete.
